Relief for Children ensures the safety and security of the environment of its program participants, staff, leadership, volunteers, representatives, and partners through its responsibility in adhering to its safeguarding principles and policy. Relief for Children has the responsibility to prevent and respond to any harm reported to and by its staff, leadership, representatives, children and their families, program participants, and community members.

Relief for Children respects the confidentiality of children, families, and their community and aims to implement this value at all times for the safety and protection of the organization’s staff, program participants, leadership, volunteers, representatives, and partners. The views of children, their families, and their communities will be treated with respect by all staff, the advisory board, leadership, volunteers, representatives, and partners of the organization.

Staff Competency and Professional Development

Relief for Children believes that to equip staff with the necessary competencies and knowledge in working effectively with children, their families, and the community, we provide opportunities for continuous learning through facilitation of training and professional development such as workshops and conferences. Staff will be provided with opportunities to learn and engage with other professionals in their career field further improve their competencies and qualifications to keep program participants safe and improve the operation of our organization.

Transparency and Trust

Relief for Children believes that trust and transparency in our work is essential in implementing safe, accessible, and accountable programming that addresses the needs and the agency of children, their families, and their communities. Relief for Children welcomes the continuous engagement of children, their families, and their community through program participation and any other opportunities such as town halls, workshops/classes, events, and etc.

What We Do

Health

We encourage healthy lifestyles through medical care, sports competitions, and exercise classes.

Vocational Training

We support children to discover their life’s calling through vocational training and local mentorship programs.

Education

We offer educational sponsorship for orphans and vulnerable children, support the construction of local schools, libraries and technology labs.

Nutrition

We promote healthy diets by providing meals, supporting backyard planting efforts, and creating healthy green spaces

Spiritual Development

We instill firm moral compasses through religious education focused on generating a healthy respect and tolerance for other beliefs, as well as the positive role of religion in everyday life.
