3. How is the money I donate used?
Your donation goes directly to support the children and families we serve. Once a donation is received, we disburse the funds to the appropriate program or designated need. We ensure that all payments or purchases made on behalf of sponsored children and families are documented with receipts of proof of donation.
Sponsorships also help institutionalize and expand our work across Nsawam, enabling sustainable growth of our programs.
4. Do I get updates about the child I sponsor?
As a sponsor, you will receive:
- Quarterly updates with photos and stories on your child’s progress
- Occasional letters or artwork from your sponsored child (when available)
- Annual impact reports about your donation’s reach
We believe in transparency and nurturing the relationship between sponsors and the children they support. However, the amount and type of information we share is guided by the level of permission granted by the child’s parent or guardian. We take confidentiality seriously and ensure that all shared updates respect the privacy and dignity of each child and their family.
5. Can I choose the child I sponsor?
Once our Child Sponsorship Platform is fully launched, you’ll be able to browse child profiles and choose a child you’d like to sponsor. Each profile will include personal stories, photos, and a glimpse into their dreams, challenges, and daily life to allow you to connect with the child you’re supporting.
We believe sponsorship is more than a donation; it’s a relationship. We’re committed to sharing real, individual stories that reflect the unique spirit of each child
Alternatively, you can opt to have us match you with a child who is currently enrolled and in need of support.
6. How do I make payments?
A secure online payment system will be available on our website. We’ll accept:
- Credit/debit cards
- PayPal or mobile money (region-dependent)
- Recurring automatic payments
7. What if I can no longer continue sponsoring a child?
We understand circumstances can change. If you need to pause or cancel your sponsorship:
- Contact us at info@rfcghana.org
- We’ll ensure the child continues to receive uninterrupted support through our general donor fund while we search for a new sponsor
8. Can I send gifts or letters to my sponsored child?
All mailed gifts and packages for students will be thoroughly inspected prior to distribution. The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority.
To avoid any delays or package interception, we kindly ask sponsors to inform the child’s guardians or program staff in advance when sending items.
