How we Work
At Relief for Children, our on-the-ground staff build strong connections with local organizations, as well as business, political, and religious leaders. These connections help us to deeply understand community-specific areas of need and ensure that our programs are tailored to address them effectively. Relief for Children programming is often coupled with existing community efforts, ensuring familiarity and contextual appropriateness.
๐ Education
Relief for Children breaks the cycle of poverty in target communities with quality educational programming. We offer educational sponsorship for orphans and vulnerable children, support the construction of local schools, libraries, and technology labs, provide free supplemental learning sessions, and raise awareness of opportunities in higher education.
๐ ๏ธ Vocational Training
Relief for Children empowers children to explore and discover their professional passions. We embed vocational classes into local school curriculums and offer mentorship programs that connect students with local professionals in their areas of interest.
๐ฅ Nutrition
Relief for Children facilitates access to nutritious food and helps children to understand the vital role that a healthy diet plays in excelling inside and outside of the classroom. We provide meals, guide backyard planting efforts, facilitate public cooking classes, and work with local authorities to create healthy green spaces.
๐ฅ Health
Relief for Children encourages healthy lifestyles to lay the foundation for long-term physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We provide free medical care, initiate local sports tournaments and competitive leagues, and hold classes on weekly exercise routines.
๐ Spiritual Development
Relief for Children instills religious moral values, including tolerance, honesty, respect, and community. We introduce religious curriculums to local schools that generate a healthy respect and tolerance of other beliefs, provide individual religious consultations, and hold small-group meetings with religious leaders.
